1. Catalogs

A catalog should be your choice of print product if you have a substantial range of products or services. Useful for direct mail and handouts, catalogs are the best way to give a detailed showcase of your business offerings. Big retailers like Sears and Ikea use these catalogs to promote new arrivals or seasonal sales features. And with the rise of e-commerce websites, an integrated online and print catalog can target a whole new range of potential customers.

If you plan on using catalogs for your next campaign, take note of three things. First is the size and orientation of your catalog. A half-page catalog sized 5.5″ x 11″ is a great choice for general purpose. The size is smaller and may not give a great detail on the product photos and limited space for text but it’s the economical choice.

On the other hand, an 8.5″ x 11″ full-page catalog, available in portrait or landscape orientation, is priced at a premium but the extra space is worth it. The portrait orientation can be a great choice for text-heavy descriptions and specifications, usually for technological products. The landscape orientation is great for retail products or furniture sets that need higher resolution photos. It can also be used by travel agencies to feature travel destinations.

2. Postcards

Postcards are the staple of direct mail marketing campaigns. While they are one of the most popular choices for personal communication, especially for travelers, marketers have tapped this personal nature of postcards to build their relationship with customers.

Postcards are perfect for quick promotions. With Every Door Direct Mail, you can specify a demographic you want to target and send them to customers that are more likely to respond to you. They are also ideal for single promotions like businesses with relatively few products and services. But with the versatility of postcards, they can be easily used by all businesses.

3. Door Hangers

If you want a unique promotion, then door hangers may just be the best print product for your next marketing campaign. It’s one of the best ways to get your target market’s attention for the simple reason that the first thing they touch when they arrive at their house is their door knobs.

Door hangers are a great alternative to postcards. Especially if you are a local business, you can tap your vicinity to promote your services. They are perfect for pre-launch promotions for a new product. Make sure that your door hanger designs are eye-catching. It’s always a good idea to put a call-to-action with an offer for a free trial or sample if they bring your door hangers to your business.

4. Posters

Posters are an effective way to gain visibility for your business without exerting a lot of time or effort maintaining it. Hanging one or two posters in high foot traffic areas can ensure a high marketing reach. More posters mean more traffic. Potential customers can see your marketing promotion for as long as you leave your poster up. And that could mean months.

Ideal not only for promotions but one-time events as well, the print product can give a detailed overview of what you have in store for your customers. Poster design is the most important aspect of this type of marketing. You need to draw people in with your visuals to make them see the details. Consider what works with your target consumer. If possible, create several designs that you can post all around town.

5. Brochures

Brochures are one of the most used promotional materials for a good reason. They are versatile enough to handle a lot of important information but portable enough to be handed out to your customers. Most businesses prefer to have a set of brochures at their place of business that they can give to anyone who inquires about their products. It’s a great way to initiate a trial for your products since your recipients can take one home to decide what they should buy.

There are several formats that you can use for brochures. Use a bi-fold brochure if you want to include large photos for higher details. You can use it as a mini booklet or a quick guide to your products or service.

A 3-panel brochure is the most popular variant, with itself divided into several types. The classic tri-fold brochure is great for storytelling presentations, such as an overview of your company. The z-fold type is good for easy opening and useful for sequential lists or how-tos. The gate-fold brochure is ideal if you want to highlight a specific panel.

A 4-panel format is divided into three types: the parallel map fold that is versatile enough to be an all-around choice, the double parallel fold that is ideal for designs that include forms, and the accordion fold that is good for detailed information on your products.

6. Flyers

Distributing your message to your target consumers never gets better than doing it with flyers. If you have the spare personnel or if you want to go up close and personal to your target market in the field, then flyer marketing is the right print product for you.

Designing a good flyer is easy. The first thing you should focus on is your call-to-action. You should lead your customers and let them know what they should do after receiving the flyer. Aside from that, use striking graphics that grab attention. Finally, be at high traffic areas where your target demographic usually goes.

7. Labels

Labels are probably one of the most crucial print products you should invest in. After all, effective product packaging is needed to entice potential customers to buy your products. And with their ability to adhere to any smooth surface, labels are perfect for promoting brand awareness or recall.

You can use labels for almost any product packaging, from food products like candies to non-edible ones like beauty products. Aside from that, you can also use them as address labels for personalized direct mail that is great for corporate correspondence.

8. Presentation Folders

Being perceived as professional is one of the cornerstones of effective business. And to be professional, you have to look the part. Presentation folders can do that to you and more. With a personalized folder, you can make your brand image consistent across all aspects of your business, especially during a presentation of your products and services.

Aside from that, you can also use presentation folders to package your other print materials and marketing collateral to give to your clients.

9. Business Cards

Finally, business cards are probably the most important print product you need if you’re trying to build your network of business associates. A professionally designed business card can speak volumes about you and your product. First impressions are important. That’s why you need to invest in a high-quality business card with ultra thick card stock and high-resolution visuals.

When designing your business card, make sure to include all the important contact details so your recipient can get/keep in touch. Use a legible font and a readable size for the text. For images, simple is usually the best. Use visuals that are appropriate for the type of business you are in.
