5 Ways Custom Packaging Can Be a Game for Your Business
There’s never been a more important time for a business to invest in custom packaging than the present. The rise of e-commerce, social media sharing, and market saturation have brands coming up with new ways to engage their target market and stand out from the competition.
Nowadays, you need more than just a great product. Custom packaging is key to draw consumers in before they even try your merchandise.
Not only does custom packaging protect your products during shipping and handling, but it’s also a representation of who you are as a brand. Their benefits don’t end there. Packaging plays an important role in telling your brand story, enhancing the product experience, and encouraging customer loyalty.
Here are 5 ways custom packaging can benefit your business and your overall bottom line.
Use custom packaging boxes to give value to a purchase.
In today’s e-commerce world, your product may be the first thing that people encounter from your brand. As of 2020, 255 million American consumers shop online, and their first impression of a product as soon as it arrives—whether good or bad—always lasts. Customers should see your brand as professional, reliable, and a great value for money.
Even if consumers initially see your product online and not in-store, it’s important to communicate the quality of your brand and service through the packaging.
Design packaging as a preview of what’s in store.
For younger generations, the packaging can be just as important as the merchandise itself. Social media is a powerful tool, and you can maximize its potential by getting consumers excited about an upcoming product launch using just the packaging. Even before you’re ready to release to the market, posting just an image of the product packaging can already build hype. This also helps grow your community and has customers looking forward to your product launch.
Treat packaging materials as an extension of your brand.
Is your brand all about luxury? Or perhaps you want to convey how your product is only made of natural and organic ingredients? All these things should cohesively reflect in your custom packaging down to the materials that you use.
These days, you can customize product boxes in various materials, coatings, and special finishes to set yourself apart from the competition.
Add packaging inserts to enhance your unboxing.
One of the biggest misconceptions about custom packaging is that it requires a substantial budget. Packaging is not about fancy boxes and gift bags. The purpose of packaging is to deliver a special experience that connects your brand to the customer.
Instead of printing on the actual box, try customizing with stickers and labels. Whether you apply them to the box or bag itself or slip a few pieces as freebies, they will surely bring life to plain packaging.
For a touch of luxury, try branded tissue paper. With printed materials and packaging inserts, you can still enhance the unboxing experience without breaking the bank.
Boost brand recognition with logo printing.
Your logo is the face of your brand, and adding it to your printed collaterals and custom packaging can help customers familiarize themselves with your business.
Even if you can’t print branded boxes and packaging, you can still apply your logo using branded packaging tape.
Printed custom gift bags and branded wrapping paper are also suitable and more cost-friendly options.
When you have a memorable logo, consumers will immediately think of your brand the next time they need similar products and services.
