Real estate company embraces QR marketing

With a lot attention given to quick response codes in recent months, marketers are beginning to consider ways in which they can take advantage of the new medium. QR codes are printed images – similar to bar codes – that can be scanned by users' smartphones, whereupon they are transferred to a website, phone number or other digital service.

A real estate service in Morris County, New Jersey, has seen the benefits of QR codes and adopted a unique strategy of their own. EXIT Realty Gold Service has begun printing or labeling QR codes on their yard signs, business cards, brochures, postcards and other print marketing items.

"Having QR Codes on our marketing material allows our clients and potential buyers to get accurate and timely information as quickly as possible," Lyle Wolf, sales associate and one of the owners of EXIT Realty Gold Service, told Denville's Neighbor News.

While the company is not the first to embrace the new medium, they are certainly an early one. As the device begins to enter the gradually improving economy, the small business sector may lag behind others in their adoption of QR. Even so, companies like Exit Realty will be the torchbearers that many experts believe will revolutionize the print and digital marketing worlds in coming years.
