This week we closed the books on the first half of 2011 and embark on the second. Hope your summer is getting off to a great start. Two solid months of longer days and warm weather lay ahead. If you haven’t done so by now, it’s time to buy some fresh sunblock.

You got more than 200 tutorials, over 80 design inspirations, poster design basics, a Photoshop tutorial, lessons on the creation of posters for theater, movies, music and typography. Plus, a nice look at some thought-provoking Global Warning posters.


Graphic Design Rounduppresented a veritable rodeo of website trends, tutorials and examples with some noteworthy images to ponder including terrifying tobacco warning labels, unique business card ideas, and eye-catching minimalist print ads. Plus, your party gifts included 45 water textures, 20 Photoshop PSDs, nifty Illustrator tutorials and reading recommendations for 23 design books.


Photobomb let loose with a mighty payload of topics – from how to shoot fireworks to upcycling vintage photo gear, troubleshooting SD memory cards to hints on how to win a photo contest, rules for shooting the sun to digital astrophotography, how to market your photography studio to the top 10 HDR software programs, and more.


We offer a few practical tips for celebrating Independence Day with an environmentally friendly approach. Think of it as mixing a little green in with your red, white and blue.
