Recently updated on February 8th, 2021 at 07:14 pm

1. Behance

Behance is an amazing design gallery that has taken the design community by storm. Many graphic and web designers create accounts on this site to showcase their work. It’s the perfect place to find designers for any sort of print project such as business cards, postcards, brochures, logos and more. I have personally used this site to find designers for a variety of projects and it’s a great first place to go.

2. Coroflot

Coroflot is an older social network for designers that not only features thousands of portfolios but also has a job board where you can post a listing if you are looking to hire a designer. The portfolios are organized into many categories such as print design, art direction, and illustration, making finding a designer easier.

3. Deviantart

Deviantart is a massive gallery for designers that you could spend weeks searching on. Again, they have many categories and a search feature so you can easily browse through a number of designs in hopes of finding the perfect designer. Once you find a design you like you can follow it to the designer’s profile to contact him or her. Many new designers flock to this site, but there are plenty of top-notch graphic artists lurking around as well.

4. Design Job Boards

If you happen to be looking for a full-time designer or part-time freelancer you may be better off posting on job boards and letting the designers come to you with not only portfolio samples but their resumes as well. The design community is lucky to have numbers established job boards, making it easy to find the perfect graphics or web designer for your organization. Below are a few good ones.

  1. Krop

5. Flickr

Wile Flickr may be known as a hot spot for photographers, the massive photo sharing site also allows designers to upload and share their artwork. You can find designers by using the standard search and then using advanced search options to filter results. Another good way is to search for groups designers join that feature a specific type of work such as business cards.

6. Twitter

Believe it or not, Twitter is a great place to find talented designers! Many graphics and web designers who have a web presence also have Twitter profiles to network with other designers and showcase their latest work. Simply head over to Twitter and use their powerful search engine to start looking for designers. There are also some big lists of designers who are on Twitter around like this one.

7. Design Forums

There are several really great and active design forums online that have thousands of graphic and web design members. Most designers go to the forums to network and have their work critiqued, but its also a common place to go when you need design work. Some fo the forums already have sections specially created for people looking to hire designers for freelance design projects. All you need to do is sign up and post and you should get some responses. Be sure to ask for links to their portfolios in your initial post to make your search quicker.

  2. GDF

8. Freelance Gig Sites

Lets face it, getting designs created can be scary! You never know what you are going to get and having a lot of options and concepts to choose from is a way for you to push the odds in your favor. There are several excellent sites out there where you can post a freelance project where designers actually compete against each other to be picked as the winning design.

9. Craigslist

If you need a local designer, Craigslist can be a good choice since you can post specifically in the city you live in. It’s best to detail exactly what you need in the post so you can weed out some of the wrong people before they email you. Some people will email your back with general responses, so look for the people who actually read your post and respond back properly with the information you requested.

10. Your Friends and Colleagues

This may be last on the list, but it’s probably the first thing you should do. Asking friends is a solid option because your friends will usually recommend someone they have had a good experience with. You will also be able to see the work they did for your friend and ask them questions about how working with that designer was, which can save you time and money.
